Welcome

Hi there, I created this website to show the project

that the Ouarrach Foundation completed.

This foundation was founded to put a smile on kids who are living in rural areas.

Created By Ibrahim Ouarrach

Why?

The purpose of this foundation is to first renovate schools that are in terrible condition so that kids can have a safe learning space that is conducive to success; secondly, to

teach kids and adults computer science so that they can make use

of these skills to improve their lives.

Some of The Work

The Story of how it
all started

I have always been passionate about charity work and helping people. Since I was 10 years old, one of my dreams was to sustain a positive impact on the world regardless of its magnitude. In January 2021 during the pandemic, I came to realize that it was the perfect opportunity to achieve that dream by contributing to the wellbeing of my community. In March of the same year, I created the Ouarrach Foundation. This private charity aims to fulfill two main objectives: first, to renovate schools that are in terrible condition so that kids can have a safe learning space that is conducive to success; secondly, to teach kids and adults computer science so that they can make use of these skills to improve their lives.
Then, I gathered a team of 3 people who were skilled in different areas. We decided that our first project was to renovate 2 small schools that were old and dilapidated, yet still functioning as learning spaces. All the renovation was done for free and we were also planning to add a new course for kids to learn scratch in the school. The first person was Mohamed Ouarrach who helped me network with powerful and wealthy people to raise the funds. The second person is Abdenbi who has more than 24 years of managing construction workers. The third person was Omar: a great software engineer who helped me design a syllabus for the courses ( intro to Java, and scratch programming for kids).
From May 2nd, 2021 until July 25th, 2021, I have raised 40 000 dollars out of which 15 000 dollars were given as construction equipment. The companies that funded this project were the following: Scania Maroc, Briqueterie De Sidi Kacem Sa, and Marjan. I have achieved this with the help of Mohamed Ouarrach who introduced me to executive people in these companies. These people were quite glad, at the end of the projects, with the work that they wanted to fund more projects in the future. After securing the funds, we commenced the renovation. This stage went smoothly with the help of Abdenbi. We ensured that schools were built so that they were warm in the winter and cool in the summer. On the other hand, implementing scratch into the curriculum was more difficult than I had expected. While we needed to provide computers because the kids were from poor families, it was also necessary to translate scratch into Arabic. I expected that there would be problems along the way but there was no issue that couldn't be fixed. We bought 30 computers from a store in Casablanca who gave us a discount. For scratch programming, I and Omar taught it to English teachers In the school who expressed they would be happy to relay this knowledge and skill by teaching that subject in their classrooms.
This project lasted for around a year and a half as it was completed in January 2023. In the end, we were able to save 2 thousand dollars and some more material which we used to renovate a musk that was close by. For most of the project, I ascertained that all phases and stages were realized and fulfilled while attending school which was quite stressful at times.

Future Projects

This is simply the beginning. We are currently thinking of making a much bigger impact in Morocco through our next project. We plan to introduce programming to schools in the mountains that were hit by the earthquake. We also intend to not only renovate but also build new schools in the Sahara so that kids and teens can have a bright future.
